10:44 PM SUNDAY: Details are few so far, but police are investigating a reported armed robbery just after 10 pm in Morgan Junction. The initial report was that it happened at the gas station/mini-mart at 6540 California SW (though it should be noted, that address has two other businesses open at this hour, Domino’s Pizza and the BECU ATM). The only descriptive info sent out over the radio was a Black man in his 20s, no other details. Since there’s been so little radio traffic on this, we might not find out more until the written report is available.

9:49 AM MONDAY: We obtained the narrative from SPD:

On 09/20/2026 at 2203 hours I was working uniformed patrol for the Seattle Police Department … I responded to a Robbery call at 65XX California Av Sw. The call notes read as follows:

2 MIN AGO, ROBBERY AT GUNPOINT

I contacted XXXX who is employed as a clerk at the gas station located at 65XX California Av Sw. XXXX stated that the following had occurred: A customer (XXXX) was purchasing beer at the counter. The suspect has his firearm drawn and tells XXXX to move out of the way.

The suspect points the firearm at XXXX and tells him “give me all your money” while pointing the firearm directly at him. XXXX opens the cash register and starts to manually hand all the money to the suspect from the cash register. After receiving the money, the suspect then proceeds to walk out of the store and leaves in an unknown direction. It is unknown if the suspect utilized a vehicle or left on foot.

XXXX stated that approximately 1700-2000$ dollars were taken by the suspect. XXXX showed officers video footage of the robbery and the suspect can be described as follow: black male, 20s, black mask, black hoodie, Nike tech pants and the suspect was wearing all black/gray colors. The firearm that the suspect utilized was black. XXXX was not injured during the commission of the robbery.

Police are looking for a silver 2001 four-door Infiniti reportedly stolen by carjackers within the past half-hour or so. This is reported to have happened in the 9400 block of Delridge Way. The initial description over police radio was “four unknown-race males,” late teens or early 20s, wearing masks. No other details so far.

Checking the early-morning police calls, we found a confirmed incident of early-morning gunfire. The 911 call came from someone near Beach Drive and SW Oregon around 2:20 am, in the Me Kwa Mooks Park/Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook area. According to radio archives, the responding officers found “shotgun rounds.” We just obtained the report narrative from SPD; it described what was found as “two spent shotgun 20GA casings.” Police say nearby residents reported noticing a “black sedan leaving southbound” after the shots. No injuries or property damage reported.

Around 9:15 pm, 911 got a call about suspected gunfire near 32nd SW and SW Trenton. Police weren’t able to confirm it until another 911 call a half-hour or so later from someone who said they had it on video – someone in a black sedan shooting at a nearby house, with a bullet hole in a garage door as a result. No injuries reported.

Got a question about an incident about an hour ago in High Point in which police were running after a suspect. They arrested a 36-year-old man for investigation of attempted domestic-violence burglary. The incident began with a 911 call reporting that a man was trying to break into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment by kicking the door down. She was inside at the time. No injuries reported. The arrest was reported to have happened near 35th and Raymond.

Seattle Police have reported two West Seattle cases in which casings were found but not immediately following reports of possible gunfire:

LAST NIGHT: Thursday night (September 10) after 8 pm, we heard an officer radio in a discovery of multiple casings, saying they might be related to a “possible shots heard” report sometime Wednesday night. He didn’t say where the discovery was made, so we asked SPD today. It was on a path in a “heavily wooded area” near 26th SW and SW Graham, and the discovery totaled 14 9mm casings. That was a ways from the previous night’s “shots heard” 911 call, which was made from the 6500 block of 21st SW, police say.

LAST FRIDAY: We also followed up on this summary of a discovery last Friday (Septemher 4):

At 1537 hours, officers responded to [someone who] reported finding evidence in a bike lane in West Seattle. Officers arrived and located shell casings. No associated victims, shots fired calls, and/or property damaged were located/reported. No additional information was available.

The initially released summary gave no hint of the bike lane’s location. In response to our inquiry, police said it was near Sylvan Way and Sylvan Heights Drive.

Received tonight from Garrett, this report of a boat prowler in Fauntleroy Cove:

A neighbor alerted me that someone was on my boat. When I paddled out, I found a man who appeared to be in his mid-40s, with a salt-and-pepper beard, skinny with a yellow and black PFD aboard my boat. He had a very nice black Highfield inflatable that was loaded with gear suspected of having been taken from other boats.

He was inside the cabin while I was paddling out and was standing on the transom when I arrived. We had a heated verbal confrontation, and he took off in the inflatable. As we followed alongside him in Puget Sound, he wielded a knife at us.

I contacted the police and the U.S. Coast Guard. Coast Guard officers located him and followed him toward Elliott Bay Marina. Before reaching the marina entrance, he reportedly beached the inflatable on the rocks and ran into the wooded area. I was also told that he brandished a knife at the federal officers.

As of this posting, he has not been apprehended. Please be alert, check your boats, and do not approach him. Call 911 immediately if you see him or have information about his whereabouts.

Two incidents of note this early Tuesday morning:

7-ELEVEN ROBBERY: Police are investigating a holdup just before 2:30 am at the South Delridge 7-Eleven. Two men, both armed with handguns, are reported to have robbed the store. The descriptions circulated so far are two Black men in their early 30s, both in ski masks, one in a black jacket and blue jeans, one in a red shirt, both last seen fleeing on foot, northbound on Delridge. Officers are searching right now with K-9 assistance.

STOLEN-CAR ARREST: About half an hour before that, police were at another West Seattle 7-Eleven – at 35th and Barton – arresting a man after finding a stolen car at the store. The car was described as a white 2019 Nissan Rogue. The suspect is being taken to jail right now.

12:08 PM UPDATE: He wound up in a hospital instead of jail, according to the report narrative we just obtained from SPD:

On 9/8/2026 while working fully uniformed patrol with my Field Training officer … I noticed an occupied suspicious vehicle at 9200 35th Ave SW 7-Eleven. I ran the white Nissan Rogue plate WA #XXXXXXX, it came back as a stolen vehicle under Seattle Police department incident #2026-256361.

I conducted a high-risk vehicle stop on the vehicle, which was facing northbound at the gas pumps. The male with the vehicle, who was later verbally identified as XXXX was placed in handcuffs, and I read him his Miranda rights and XXXX understood them. A female later identified as XXXX who had driven the vehicle to the location was detained inside of 7-Eleven.

XXXX explained that he had the vehicle for the past 3 days after receiving it from a friend. XXXX said he had gotten the vehicle from his friend but could not remember his friend’s information. He explained that his friend had given him the vehicle because he was homeless at the park and believed the car to be his friend’s family’s car.

XXXX informed Officers on scene that XXXX had come over to her house with the vehicle and asked her to drive to 7-Eleven because he was too tired to drive. XXXX had the keys to the vehicle on her but thought XXXX had borrowed the vehicle because he had the keys.

Through my investigation I determined that I had probable cause for RCW 9A.56.150 Possessing stolen property in the first degree because XXXX had the vehicle for the past 3 days, he avoided giving a clear answer on who his friend was that gave him the vehicle, and that XXXX admitted that XXXX had only driven the vehicle to 7-Eleven. I placed XXXX under arrest and searched him. I screened the arrest …. XXXX was seen by SFD on scene because he explained that he had swallowed drugs when he saw officers pull up. SFD cleared XXXX on scene, and he was transported to King County Jail by Officer Ames and was declined at KCJ due to him claiming to have swallowed narcotics. He was transported to Saint Annes and released from police custody and this decision was screened … The vehicle was searched on scene and towed by Lincoln Towing after the owner could not be reached.

Police investigated gunfire in North Admiral around 2 am today. According to archived police radio, a witness called 911 to say they saw someone in a “dark gray Cadillac sedan” fire at a Tesla Cybertruck at Hamilton Viewpoint, about 20 minutes before they called. Police subsequently reported finding at least one shell casing at the park entrance at California/Palm, and finding someone asleep in a parked Cybertruck nearby, uninjured. The witness did not provide a description of whoever was in the Cadillac but reported it was last seen southbound on California.

5:27 PM: SPD and SFD are arriving in the Roxhill Park area after a report that someone was stabbed. Updates to come.

5:32 PM: Officers told dispatch they have no suspect description so far. The victim is being taken to the hospital by SFD medic unit.

5:47 PM: The victim is reported to be a teenager. The scene, police told dispatch is toward the southwest side of the park, 29th/Cambridge.

5:59 PM: Police have cleared the scene. We’re checking with SFD on the victim’s condition, and asking SPD if they have any additional info.

7:23 PM: Updates – SFD spokesperson Kaila Lafferty says the victim, a man now believed to be 20 years old, was in critical condition when transported. SFD spokesperson Det. Brian Pritchard provided this summary:

Officers arrived and found a 20-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the thigh and torso, near the soccer field. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center; his condition is unknown at this time. The victim stated that he did not know who stabbed him and gave no description of the suspect. Homicide and Assault Unit detectives are leading the investigating and will be working to determine what led to the stabbing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes Tip line at (206) 233-5000.

ATM ROBBERY ATTEMPT: Among the incident summaries released by SPD today was this one detailing a holdup attempt Wednesday night at a BECU ATM in The Whittaker (4755 Fauntleroy Way SW), scene of a robbery less than three weeks ago:

At 2050 hours, a female victim was attempting to deposit a check at a bank in the 4700 block of Fauntleroy Way Southwest, when two teenaged males, wearing dark clothing and masks, both armed with handguns, demanded the money from the victim account. She told them she had no money in her account and was attempting to deposit a check. Then the suspects demanded to see the check. When she showed them her check they fled on foot into a nearby black sedan, license plate unknown, and fled the scene eastbound at a high rate of speed.

PACKAGE THEFT: Video and report are from a reader:

I wanted to share a video of what appears to be an older white male, balding, holding a tote bag and wearing a blue backpack stealing packages from my front door. He took two packages 30 seconds apart on Tuesday. The contents of the packages are replaceable, but really disappointed to see this happening.

3:32 PM: The 4th Avenue exit from the eastbound West Seattle Bridge is closed because of what – according to police radio – started as an attempt to stop a suspected DUI driver in West Seattle. The suspect got onto the bridge, then took the 4th Avenue exit and crashed. The suspect then reportedly refused to get out of the car, but police eventually took him into custody.

3:46 PM: The offramp has reopened.

Thanks to the commenters who reported there was more to the story of a crash on the West Seattle Bridge we mentioned around this time yesterday. We followed up with SPD; here’s the police narrative we obtained:

At approximately 1323 hrs officers responded to a call on the West Seattle Bridge of a person running into traffic. The CAD call showed the following remarks:

CHECK FOR MALE WALKING UP THE RAMP TO THE WEST SEATTLE BRIDGE. NO WEAPONS SEEN. WOULD BE GOING EB ON THE BRIDGE.

The West Seattle Bridge has no sidewalks, and is open to vehicular traffic only. Over a dozen people driving their vehicles on the bridge called in to 911 to report the subject … running and chasing cars carrying a dinner plate.

Prior to officers arriving it was updated that he had switched from walking and running in eastbound lanes to walking in westbound lanes. While running around in traffic several vehicles had to take evasive action to avoid hitting (him). Two vehicles ending up becoming involved in a collision that caused an airbag deployment.

(He) was located by officers walking westbound on the West Seattle Bridge. Due to him walking in traffic, making vehicles take evasive action to avoid hitting him, and causing a vehicular collision he was placed under arrest for pedestrian interference.

He was booked into jail and spent just under 24 hours there before being released this afternoon; he is still facing the charge for which he was arrested; it’s a misdemeanor.

STOLEN CARGO BIKE: Elise is asking you to look out for this stolen cargo e-bike:

She says it was “stolen from my garage in White Center near Shorewood Park (foolishly left it open while I was working in the backyard) yesterday 9/1 between 2-4 pm.” She posted about it on a social-media page and got a tip that it had been seen in Arbor Heights at a house in the 3500 block of SW 99th. Police followed up, Elise said, and were told the bike had been there but was gone. “SPD left since that isn’t enough to conduct a search. This morning I drove by and one of my bike gloves and my lock is outside of the garage door. So I feel pretty sure it’s still in there. I’m hoping SPD will return to investigate further.” But in the meantime, call 911 if you see it. “This is more of a vehicle than anything else to me, I rely on it for commuting, errands, and daycare drop-off/pick-up! Already reported stolen on Bike Index.”

CAR BREAK-IN: From Kris: “Our car was broken into sometime Monday night (8/31) while parked on the street in Fauntlee Hills. The glove box was emptied of all documents. Unfortunately, the documents found … in Upper Fauntleroy are not ours.”

12:44 PM: SPD and SFD are converging on 16th SW near SW Barton, in the Salvation Army center vicinity, after a man was shot. 16th is closed in the area, between Henderson and Barton, while police search for evidence and up to four suspects. Updates to come.

1:03 PM: The victim is being taken to Harborview by SFD medic unit. He was reported to have a chest wound and is reported to e 22 years old. Adding photos from our crew at the scene.

1:23 PM: The shooter(s) are reported to have left the scene – which appears to have been midblock on 16th SW by the Salvation Army and a bus stop on foot. Police have been searching nearby with a K-9 team.

1:30 PM: Officers just told dispatch that a witness saw suspects running east on Henderson.

1:38 PM: SPD spokesperson Det. Brian Pritchard is at the scene and tells us early indication is that the shooting happened during an “altercation.” He confirms the victim was shot in the chest but doesn’t have condition information.

1:50 PM: Though police don’t believe the shooting had anything to do with the Salvation Army – just its proximity – they tell us it’s closed for the day. Det. Pritchard has given an on-camera summary to us and the TV crews that eventually arrived at the scene; we’ll post that video when our crew gets back to HQ.

2:55 PM: The street has reopened, police told dispatch. And here’s our video of the briefing:

Our Hyundai was stolen from SW Elmgrove St near California Avenue SW on the evening of August 24. I’m a Marine Corps veteran – the plate is MC09228. It’s a white 2012 Hyundai Elantra with a lot of stickers in the rear passenger side window. The police report number is 26-250971.

Reader report from someone trying to trace a relatively distinctive vehicle:

I wanted to see if anyone in the Gatewood/Fauntleroy area has camera footage they can share of someone who appeared to be casing our home after stealing my wallet (which contained my address) Tuesday evening.

At approximately 5:20 pm my wallet (with driver’s license and current address) was stolen from my car at Rainier Golf & Country Club by a man in a white Mercedes Benz SUV with a missing bumper and missing front left panel, tinted windows, and temporary plates. The car looks new other than those features.

The same car (with one driver, same description) was then seen around 5:50 PM at our home in Gatewood (SW Rose St between Fauntleroy and California). They stopped in our driveway, backed up and hit our yard waste bin, and seemed to be looking for our house cameras. They did not get out of the car. The man was wearing a white tank top and was described as a “bad driver.” They did not move even when our nanny entered the driveway. Once our nanny and kids were back inside, they drove away.

Two neighbors saw them, as did our nanny who was walking the dog when they took this picture. The car in question is the one blocking our driveway, parallel to the road. Our second car (also white) is blocked in by this car. We have an open report with SPD, and are looking for additional footage anyone might have of the driver or car from their own cameras between 5:15 PM and 6:45 PM Tuesday. Based on credit card activity, they drove to Denny/SLU area next, and were there by 6:52.

We pieced this together in reverse order. Nanny texted about weird car; then credit fraud; then witness report about parking lot theft at Rainier which matched the same description provided by our nanny hours earlier. At this point we called the police.
