In this beautiful fable, author and actress Nora Girón-Dolce takes us on an imaginary trip to the beginnings of the Mexican tradition of setting up the offering and altar for the dead. We start with a reminder – the Alaskan Way Viaduct is closed for its twice-yearly inspection, until 6 pm today and again 6 am-6 pm tomorrow (if it reopens early, we’ll publish an update). Planning to use I-5 instead? Be aware that the Highway 520 floating bridge is closed too, and that could complicate things. But we have other reasons for staying in West Seattle:
