DELRIDGE GROCERY UPDATE: What’s the status of the co-op grocery planned for the commercial space at Cottage Grove Commons? In the spotlight topping today’s list of calendar highlights, a Southwest Design Review Board doubleheader looking at two Junction projects:
DESIGN REVIEW X 2: First up, 6:30 pm in the big upstairs room at Senior Center of West Seattle, it’s the first meeting for 4515 41st SW, a proposed 48-unit memory-care facility (here’s our June report). Here’s the “packet” with project details and renderings:

The organization will honor the memory of art teacher Joan Bailey Mraz, co-founder of the historical society with Elliott Couden in 1984, and of newspaper publisher Jerry Robinson, who served as a founding board member. Also on the agenda will be the election of officers and new board members for 2015, along with changes in the organization’s bylaws. Members are encouraged to attend, and the public is welcome.

Thanks to Mark Wangerin for sharing that photo in honor of Veterans Day, and all those who have served and are serving. He took it yesterday from West Seattle. We believe it’s a U.S. Navy vessel that itself is about to become a “veteran” – the USS Ingraham, which will be decommissioned tomorrow.
