Dust off your reusable totes and mark your calendars: the Delridge Farmers Market is back with more vendors, an array of culturally rich foods, handcrafted goods, and community-driven initiatives. Kicking off its 2025 season on Saturday, May 17, this beloved community hub will run every Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM until the end of October at 9421 18th Ave SW.
Hosted by African Community Housing & Development (ACHD), the Delridge Farmers Market is a celebration of culture, community, and culinary creativity. As one of Seattle’s most culturally diverse markets, it offers a platform where local entrepreneurs with global perspectives share foods and goods that reflect the rich tapestry of our city’s diversity.
What’s Fresh This Season?
Expect a blend of global flavors and handmade crafts at the Delridge Farmers Market — from Afella Jollof’s authentic Senegambian dishes like jollof rice and goat dibi to Queen Sugar Baking Company’s irresistible Southern comfort treats. This season, the market proudly welcomes two new regenerative farms to its roster: Coyote Run Farms of Woodinville and Bahati Farm of Kent, expanding access to fresh, locally grown produce. But the Delridge Farmers Market is about more than just good food and handmade goods — it’s a hub for holistic community care. Each market serves as a one-stop shop for health and wellness needs, offering free services for the public like acupuncture, massage, or vaccinations, along with essential basic needs like diapers and dental hygiene kits to support neighbors’ well-being. Here, shopping local isn’t just a transaction — it’s a way to uplift the entire community.
Food Access for All
The Delridge Farmers Market is dedicated to making fresh, culturally relevant food accessible to the community. To support this mission, the market offers unlimited SNAP-EBT Market Match, Fresh Bucks, and WIC and Senior FMNP benefits. In addition, every youth under 18 receives a free $5 ACHD Youth Bucks voucher, helping them build healthy spending habits from an early age.The Delridge Farmers Market proudly sources local produce from its farmer vendors to distribute free of charge, giving away more than 50 bags of high-quality vegetables at each market. To further support farmers and reduce food waste, the market also purchases unsold produce at the end of the day, ensuring guaranteed sales for vendors. This produce is then donated to local community organizations or brought back to ACHD’s offices to be shared with clients in need.
More Than a Market
Beyond the stalls, the Delridge Farmers Market pulses with life — serving as a hub where community connections thrive. Organizations like Pongo Poetry Project and Art is Not a Privilege set up alongside vendors, offering engaging youth activities and facilitating deeper connections at each market day. Nonprofits collaborate to share program information, highlight local initiatives, and provide engaging activities that foster a sense of belonging. The market is more than a place to shop — it’s where stories are shared, friendships are formed, and the community truly comes alive.

Alki UCC’s Food/Clothing/Outdoor Gear Donations Drive
Third Sunday of the month from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm: August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16, December 21, January 18, February 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19
Front Courtyard/6115 SW Hinds
Priorities change monthly to meet special and seasonal needs — so please check our website for updates.
The Westside Interfaith Network (WIN), our donations-drive partner, requests non-perishable food/personal hygiene items as well as men’s work clothing, socks, work boots, etc. Outdoor gear is always needed: blankets, tents, tarps, backpacks, etc.
Your donations are distributed through WIN’s “Welcome Table,” a weekly Saturday meal for unsheltered and low-income folks hosted in White Center. This distribution serves as a stopgap for many people relying on weekly visits to the food bank.
Can’t make it to the monthly drive? No problem! Just leave your donations in the barrel outside the church’s front entrance … at your convenience.
IF YOU WANT TO DONATE MORE THAN 3 BAGS, PLEASE CONTACT US FIRST TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. We unfortunately don’t have the storage space or staff to accommodate large donations between drives.
Many of the folks who receive your donations are unsheltered. Please do NOT leave inappropriate household items that aren’t requested.
Deepest gratitude to our community for your generous support of our neighbors in need.

Sharon’s never had a roommate before. In fact, there’s a lot Sharon’s never done before, but Robyn’s about to change all that.’
In The Roommate, empty-nester and recent divorcee Sharon’s world is shaken up by Robyn, her new roommate. Robyn is new to Iowa by way of the Bronx and finds the potential of tornadoes WAY more terrifying than anything happening in the Bronx. This odd couple grows from strangers to friends and then things start to spiral out of control.
More than a comedy, this play looks at the power of women and it challenges the cookie cutter version society tries to form them into, especially middle-aged women. Variety calls The Roommate “loose, rebellious, and even wild.”

Grief Support Groups
Grief groups are brave and safe spaces where bereaved people can share their stories and speak their loved one’s name without fear of getting advice, platitudes, or being shut out, no matter how long it’s been since their loved one’s passing. Every participant has dedicated time to speak about whatever they’d like, without judgment or interruption. Talking about our deceased loved ones in a supportive environment helps us remember them fully and helps us learn to carry the weight of their loss a little more gently.
These are ongoing, drop-in groups, but space is limited. Because of the sensitive nature of traumatic loss, the Thursday group is open only for those who are traumatic loss survivors. Learn more and register at listeningtogrief.com/groups. Contact Tamara at tamara@listeningtogrief.com with questions.

F3, a free national men’s workout group:
We have a local workout location that meets at Hiawatha park on Tuesday mornings at 5:30 am sharp. The group has been around for a few years, so many folks that are up early might have come across us before doing burpees or pushups and counting out loud. We’d love to extend the invite to men of any fitness level – we work out as a group and don’t leave anyone behind, come as you are and hopefully leave a bit better.
The workout is 45 minutes long and then we all get coffee at West Seattle Grounds. You don’t need to bring anything special, just wear comfortable athletic clothes appropriate for the weather and some sneakers. Some work or gardening gloves can be helpful if you have a pair. Just don’t be late or the whole group is doing penalty burpees.
Bring your little ones and come play at our church’s PlaySpace — open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon! It’s a warm, welcoming indoor spot for kids to move, imagine, and make new friends while parents and caregivers connect with one another. The Seattle Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society is pleased to announce a new class in West Seattle, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the promotion of Scotland’s unique dance form in the Seattle metro area.
The class welcomes both families and individuals ages eight and over, regardless of experience. This weekly introduction to joyful jigs, lively reels and elegant strathspeys will take place at Fauntleroy Church on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 beginning September 9th. The Church, located at 9140 California Avenue SW, has ample parking and is conveniently located on the RapidRide C line and a half mile from the Fauntleroy ferry terminal. Comfortable clothing permitting ease of movement, non-marking shoes and a good sense of humor are the only essentials for the class. An individual’s first class is free. Thereafter per class fees will be $10 and $5 for ages 8-17.
Seattle Branch Chair, EB Van Otterloo, will be one of the class instructors. Of Scottish Country Dancing, Van Otterloo says, “There are so many things to love about this form of dance. It’s social, but you don’t need to bring a partner. It’s good exercise for your body and your mind, and most of all, it is such good fun.”
Blaine Peet, who has taught Scottish Country Dancing around the world, will join Van Otterloo in teaching the new class. “Once you have learned the basics, you can dance with people anywhere across the U.S. and Canada, and around the globe. It’s a great way to make new friends in different cultures, no matter whether you are in Europe, Asia or Australia.”
The Seattle Branch has regular social events and runs classes in the U-District, at the Phinney Neighborhood Center and in Edmonds while also promoting classes in Tacoma, Burien and Mount Vernon, among others. More information is available at rscds-seattle.org/classes
