9:10 AM: West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026 is on – the biggest ever, with ~650 registered sales! The photo above shows the line waiting to get into Sale #502, the annual WSCGSD sale at Thunder Road Guitars (6400 California SW; WSB sponsor). We’ll be reporting on WSCGSD until its official end at 3 pm (some sales are going later). See the map here, the printable sale list here – updates and more pics to come!
Crowd already shopping at Sale #478, The Kenney (7125 Fauntleroy Way SW). … Need wheels? At Sale #207, it’s the Holy Rosary School Bike Bonanza (42nd north of Genesee):
9:45 AM: Some sales are at, or benefiting, nonprofits and other causes. (See the list, by numbers and beneficiaries, here.) This pic is just in from Sale #508 (39th/Barton), benefiting the Komen 3-Day Walk to fight breast cancer:
C & P Coffee (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor) is hosting artists/crafters. for WSCGSD Sale #476, including these sellers:
WSB contributor Anne Higuera reports from C & P, “Several tables of crafty things, including the one being run by Ruby, who makes felted and knitted figurines, and Ayla, who is selling the painted wooden mushrooms that she makes.
10:10 AM: Anne is now in The Admiral District, where Walnut Avenue has quite the crowd – as seen above – especially near Sale #46 at 3710 Walnut, which is offering cotton candy and egg rolls (as seen on our Treats & Lemonade list). As the map shows, lots of sales on Walnut! Like Sale #123, 3419 Walnut, promising everything from Hawaiian shirts to musubi:
And Sale #246, 3406 Walnut, is Lola’s Ice Cream pop-up:
Anne reports: “This is her fourth year selling drinks, ice cream and snacks. She is raising money to go to a national performance through the School of Rock, where she sings. She says she usually sells out by early afternoon.”
Over to the north edge of The Junction now, Tilden School (WSB sponsor) is Sale #263 – the address is 4105 California SW but they’re in the lot out back, behind First Lutheran Church of West Seattle (WSB sponsor):
Some individual residential sales hold surprise treasures – if you like sci-fi/fantasy, check out the books at Sale #608, 5406 46th SW, including these Isaac Asimov classics:
10:47 AM: Letter carrier just picked up our Stamp Out Hunger donation bag, the door-to-door food drive that coincides with WSCGSD (second Saturday in May) every year. Meantime, back to Morgan Junction for a moment, where Dave Gershgorn says all those lined-up shoppers are getting in for the deals:
This is TRG’s Moving Sale, since the shop will soon move to The Admiral District.
11:17 AM: Lots more sales in the Alki area this year than years past. One of them is Sale #153 at 3604 61st SW, where the two guys above are selling coffee and donuts, and the grownup are selling a big assortment of stuff including apparel and shoes:
Back on the north side of The Junction, the east side of California/Genesee is an epicenter of WSCGSD selling, buying, and browsing … Sales 184/302 on the north side of the intersection are the vintage extravaganza that John and Mike host every year:
And on the south side, the Hotwire Coffee courtyard has multiple sellers at Sale #155:
At Sale #485 (6313 48th SW), which is benefiting WestSide Baby, Al also has a guessing game – with a prize – going!
12 NOON: We’re now starting the second half of West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026! Here’s a pic from two Highland Park sales “right next to each other,” Sale #25 and Sale #34 in the 7900 block of 12th SW:
While there, look for art by Danielle, $5 apiece:
In Pigeon Point, WSB’s Torin Record-Sand visited Sale #67, 2062 SW Charlestown, one of today’s many moving sales – Alec and Kat are moving to the East Coast:
So, they say, EVERYTHING in their townhouse must go:
On to historic and recently renovated Kenyon Hall (7904 35th SW), on the map as Sale #409 for today’s Swap & Spin extravaganza – lots of records, plus DJ sets:
12:40 PM: WSB’s Macey Wurm went to Sale #143 (3452 39th SW) and talked with Tiah and Raven:
Macey reports they’re calling their sale “Crypt Cat’s Closet, selling an assortment of clothes including some costumes, wigs, books, and pony figurines.” Music while you shop, too.
At Peace Lutheran Church (39th/Thistle), you’ll find the annual fundraising sale to support Chief Sealth IHS Varsity Gymnastics, Sale #518:
A few other sports teams have sales – Rainier Roller Riot roller-derby skaters are at 10857 11th SW in White Center, Sale #642 – where we found Delta, Mads, and Christy, and an assortment of sale items:
1:08 PM: Still seeking plants? WSB’s Anne Higuera visited the Solstice Park P-Patch Plant Sale, back on the WSCGSD roster (Sale #510) after skipping last year:
Anne reports, “There are still some tomato starts left, and many other options to choose from. When they opened at 10, there was a line and brisk sales in the early going. Engine 37 was there when we stopped by. They had been checking hydrants in the area.”
Another repeat seller – “Crazy Bob” at Sale #272 (3243 56th SW) – has LEGOs, gnomes, kites, flags …
Looking for running shoes? West Seattle Runner (2743 California SW; WSB sponsor) is participating today as Sale #129:
You can get shoes for $25, said WSR’s Will, who’s staffing the sale table outside and says sales have been brisk.
Also in Admiral, perhaps the densest concentration of sales today, Sale #113 (2932 Walnut SW, across from WSHS) reports furniture remaining: “Occasional chair, dining room table, chairs, love seat, two dressers.”
2:05 PM: Final hour of WSCGSD 2026 (already?). Thanks to everyone who’s sent photos – here’s one sent by Sale #4 at 9858 26th SW, which added lemonade this year!
We didn’t see everyone’s signs, obviously, but of the ones we did see, this one near 35th/Elmgrove stood out:
Looking for memorable art before WSCGSD closes out? the annual art-glass sale at 3241 47th SW isn’t sold out yet:
Macey reports from Sale #94, “The sale is a combination of seven different artists from the same collective, Renton Art and Glass Studio. They mentioned that this morning before they had set up, 10-12 people were waiting in line. The collection features drinkware, ornaments, pumpkins, flowers, bowls, and much more!”
3:01 PM: Though the figurative closing bell has rung, you can keep shopping at these sales that mentioned they’ll be open until 4 pm: 10, 18, 314, 328, 416, 499, 504, 522, 637, 662, and these that planned to continue until 5 pm: 3, 19, 30, 168, 318, 324, 401. … Whether you were a seller or shopper, THANKS for being part of this year’s WSCGSD .. next year’s date (always the second Saturday in May) will be May 8, 2027.
We promised the treat list before West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day arrived, including – for starters – the WSCGSD classic, lemonade, promised at more than 20 sales:

We’re now hours away – less than 20, to be exact – from the biggest West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day ever, ~650 sales of all sizes, all kinds, all locations, all around the peninsula and a bit beyond! The map is here; the printable list is here (the former is updated, the latter is not so if you’re using it, cross-reference the list of last-minute cancellations on the map page).
Every year, West Seattle Commmunity Garage Sale Day draws hundreds of first-time sellers – and many repeat sellers. We don’t have exact numbers; in a data-laden world, we’ve chosen to keep running WSCGSD one of those rare almost-analog events. We know about the repeaters because when we review the registration forms, we recognize the names. And n some cases the addresses.
So we can tell you that the collectors/history fans – Mike and John (above) – who set up at the northeast corner of California/Genesee are back, a sale so big it’s registered twice, #184 and #302. (While you’re there, the multi-seller courtyard at Hotwire Coffeehouse, #155, is just to the south.) Another returnee is the big Art Glass Sale, #94, at 3241 47th SW. Here’s a pic they sent of a new item this year, glass bumblebees:
And the fundraising plant sale at 3703 SW 107th, Sale #656, is a multi-year returnee – benefiting a lung-cancer-fighting event in the past, now benefiting other causes that have affected her family. This sale is open extra days after WSCGSD. … Another benefit sale that’s a WSCGSD returnee is Sale 499, 5637 42nd Ave SW, open today too, raising money for a camp that serves kids with disabilities.
One more mention – unusual items! Nick has vintage electronics including arcade stuff from 1977, Sale #372:
We hope to add some more “unusual item” numbers here but have to move on and get this preview published – again, WSCGSD’s official hours are 9 am-3 pm tomorrow (Saturday, May 9), but some sellers start early and/or end late.
P.S. If you’re a seller and never got the “official sign” template from us, we may have missed some addresses in the group mail so you can email us – westseattleblog@gmail.com – to get it.
This morning, someone who works at a local bank mentioned customers visiting to get change for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day. Hadn’t occurred to us before, but it’s another way in which garage/yard/etc. sales evoke a bit of nostalgia – otherwise there’s limited use for cash any more. (Side note, you might have noticed while reading the sale list, some sellers take Venmo, and a few mention PayPal.) Whatever your plan is for shopping/selling, WSCGSD is just a day and a half away – and for those who want to start shopping sooner, remember our list of who’s planning to open Friday. A few more lists – first, a really short one. While several sellers are offering free coffee (food/beverage list later!), we have two coffee businesses with sales (repeat sale sites!): Sale #476 is C & P Coffee (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor), with multiple sellers offering handmade arts and crafts; Sale #155 is Hotwire Coffee (4410 California SW), where the courtyard will be full of sellers.
Now, a really long list – dozens of sales where you’ll find plants (among other things, in most cases)!

We’re aiming for another update tonight featuring unusual items. Again, the clickable map is here, and the printable list is here!
That’s the first sign for a Saturday sale that we’ve seen – and we’re pretty sure it’s for an official West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day sale, as Sale #117 is at 57th and Orleans. We saw the sign, however, in Gatewood, more than three miles from the sale location. Not too soon to put out signs if you feel like it, since we’re now just 60 hours away from the official start of WSCGSD at 9 am Saturday (May 9)! Even if you’ve already looked through the online map, remember to check back for updates including mini-lists and last-minute cancellations (we can’t drop sales from the printable list, just the clickable list, so we make notes on that page of which ones to scratch out). Now,our mini-lists tonight – music!

HUGE GUITAR SALE
Sale #502 is Thunder Road Guitars (6400 California SW; WSB sponsor), which has a Garage Sale Day sale every year but this year is really doing it up big because – like many WSCGSD sellers – proprietor Frank Gross is having a Moving Sale, before TRG moves to its bigger new HQ in Admiral. If you want to see the full list of what TRG is selling on Saturday, you can email seattle@thunderroadguitars.com to ask for it.
QUIRKY MUSIC-RELATED ITEM
Sale #16 is offering “vintage rock-concert T-shirts.”
That’s it for tonight’s mini-lists but we’re working on multiple updates for tomorrow as time is flying. We’re also finalizing the list of who’s interested in donations post-sale, so if your nonprofit or other organization is looking for specific items, email us at westseattleblog@gmail.com ASAP – thank you! Again, the clickable map is here; the printable list (38 pages, PDF) is here!
P.S. WSCGSD Weather Watch: Mostly sunny, high of 72.

If you haven’t explored the map and/or printable list yet, that’s where you’ll find the registered, numbered sales’ addresses, as well as the descriptions provided by sellers when they registered. You can search either one for the type of item that interests you most. Speaking of items, perhaps the most unusual we’ve seen listed is at #323 – “1974 women’s letter sweater.” Got something unusual at yours? Send a pic – westseattleblog@gmail.com – for a spotlight! Meantime, we’re counting down – WSCGSD Weather Watch remains mostly sunny, almost 70 – more previews/updates to come.
Saturday (May 9) is rolling up fast – and the 650+ sales on the map for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day are getting ready for a fun day of person-to-person recycling. Again, we’ll add any registered sale we missed that is by, or benefiting, a nonprofit/school group/etc. – just email or text us with the sale # and who you’re benefiting. For the donation-minded, also please remember that WSCGSD coincides with the Stamp Out Hunger letter carriers’ food drive every year, so if you can, leave a bag of food by your mail delivery spot (mailbox, door slot, etc.) before you head out Saturday to shop and/or sell. (Again, if you haven’t seen the yet, the map is here, the printable list is here.)
If we had a contest for most creative sale description among West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day listings, this year’s winner would likely be Sale #572 on the map, a Gatewood sale whose host wrote the description a la Dr. Seuss:
Cat in the Hat?
Thing One and Thing Two?
A plant or a seashell could be right for you!
Shirts and pants, shells and plants –
Books for cooks, books for crooks!
Oddities that not ought to be –
Should belong to you not me!
Reviewing the descriptions is one of our favorite things about coordinating West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, which is now six days away – next Saturday, May 9, with a WSCGSD-record 640+ sales of all sizes and types, all around West Seattle and a bit beyond. They’re all on the map, which you can explore here, and on the 38-page printable (PDF) list, which you’ll find here. Both versions are searchable if there’s something in particular you’re looking for – at least in topline terms like clothing, furniture, baby stuff, camping gear – or if you want to stay close to home, even something as simple as walking to the nearest sale and meeting a neighbor, you can check the clickable map to see what’s near you, and click on any marker to open the infobubble with its address and description. Back to the point of creativity – we also note classic garage-sale terms – this year’s descriptions include five promising “ephemera” (162, 271, 316, 338, 428), seven with “knickknacks” (146, 160, 197, 34, 462, 552, 641), two with “tchotchkes” (21, 146), and one with “bric-a-brac” (291). The word “vintage” appears in 97 descriptions, far outranking “antique,” which appears in 36. Instructions for searching descriptions via the map are below it; we’ll roll out some lists as the week goes on – starting with nonprofit/benefits and a few others.
P.S. The four corners this year are – northernmost sale is #163 in North Admiral (whose host says they’re a repeat WSCGSD participant), westernmost sale #303 inland from Alki Point, easternmost sale #83 in South Park (Floor Coverings International), and southernmost sale #636, a repeat seller in Seola.
It’s been a busy morning, but as promised, we finalized the map and list for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026, and have published both the interactive map an the printable list of sales (a record 644 sales, 38 pages!). See the map here; the printable list is linked there, but here’s the direct link. It’s also available via the WSB menu (look for GARAGE SALE DAY MAP). To recap:
-WSCGSD is always (since 2005) the second Saturday in May – this year, that’s May 9th
-Official sale hours are 9 am-3 pm, but as you’ll see in the listings, some are starting earlier and/or ending later, and some are adding extra days
-The listings are those of sellers who registered between April 1 and April 22 – all sizes and types of sales, all around the area!
What we do from here is continue to get the word out – we do that in myriad ways, including WSB stories plus posters and ads – and since we’ve had the benefit of having read all 640+ listings, we will be making lists of sales with certain features or focuses. We’ll also get a note out to sellers later today including, if interested, the template for your “Official Sale” sign. Updates to come!
West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026 is one week away from tomorrow, on Saturday, May 9. As usual, we will have the 600+-sale map ready for previews one week in advance – so that means tomorrow, Saturday, May 2. So if you just can’t wait to see who’s having a sale near you, plot your route, or – for sellers – get your number, check here on WSB by 8 am Saturday. When the map – both clickable version and printable sale list – is ready, we’ll announce it in a story here on the WSB main page (barring major breaking news), and we’ll also add it to the WSB site menu, so you’ll find the direct link to the map page there until WSCGSD is over. The map page also will have important updates – added throughout the week – such as links to lists of sales with certain categories of items, sales that will be open extra days, post-publication cancellations, etc.
One week from Saturday – on May 9th – it’ll be this year’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, with another record number of sales registered, more than 660! WSCGSD – which we’ve coordinated since its fourth year in 2008 – is NOT one big sale, but instead, sales of all sizes, all types, all over West Seattle (and beyond, including White Center and South Park). We’re in the midst of making the map and list featuring those 660+ registered sales, as well as making notes for smaller lists that might be interest to shoppers looking for particular types of items … this info is based on the listing info that sellers included on their registration forms. Looking for baby gear? Kid stuff? Clothing? Camping gear? Fishing gear? Puzzles? Games? Plants? Cookware? Jewelry? Art? Pet stuff? Home-office stuff? Even … ephemera? (Five listings use that word!) All that and much more (also a popular listing phrase), waiting to be found, 9 am-3 pm Saturday, May 9 – if you’re interested in shopping earlier, later, or adjacent days, there’ll be listings with that info too!
Now a question: It’s also a longstanding WSCGSD tradition to donate leftover stuff to nonprofits if you can. But first, we need a list of nonprofits who welcome post-WSCGSD donations (we’ve heard from one so far), so if you’re associated with one that would be, please email us at westseattleblog@gmail.com – let us know what you’d be interested in, and where/when people could drop it off.
And a reminder – the map and list will be available here on WSB by Saturday morning (May 2) – besides a story announcing it, we’ll also add it to the menu for that day and the ensuing week, so you’ll be able to find it more easily.
From “curated chaos” to “stuff you didn’t know you needed: to “weird and wonderful” to “spring purge,” more than 660 sales of many sizes, types, and motivations are in the works for 2026’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, on Saturday, May 9th – the most ever. The registration window ran for three weeks and closed this past Wednesday night; now we’re taking the registered sales and giving them numbered spots on a map and list, with their addresses and descriptions (other information provided in the registration process is NOT made public). The map and list (the latter is printable) will be available by Saturday morning, May 2, so shoppers have a week to plan where they want to go. We’re also promoting WSCGSD in myriad ways; over the years we’ve heard of shoppers coming from as far away as Eastern Washington. And during the next week, we’ll send registered sellers an email update including your template for the “official WSCGSD sale” sign if you want to put one up at your location. In the week before WSCGSD, we usually publish lists of sales, by number, grouped under a specific type of item (for example – camping, puzzles, plants, baby gear, nonprofit benefits, businesses, sales with lemonade stands or other treats, and so on), as well as the list of sales with an extra day (Sunday is the most common, but we have a few planning to start Friday). Anyway, we have to get back to map-and-list-making … for the latest on WSCGSD, bookmark this archive section, and the most-recent story categorized as WSCGSD will always be the first thing you see.
After three weeks, registration is closed for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day on Saturday, May 9. This year has again broken the WSCGSD record – more than 660 sales of all sizes, all over the peninsula, all with descriptions you’ll find in the guide we’re working on right now as well as the map. Two things to know: Registration really is closed – we cannot add any more sales. And if you think you’re looking at the map, no, you are not – this year’s map will not be available before Saturday, May 2, one week before sale day, as usual. The official time window for sales is 9 am-3 pm Saturday, May 9; some sales start earlier, some end later, some have extra days – you’ll find that in the sale descriptions provided during registration. And thanks for the fun descriptions which have kept us smiling during registration review – “overseen by cute dogs”; “memorabilia to miscellany to unmentionables”; “we bought it, forgot it” … even if you’re not shopping, the guide will be fun to browse. WSCGSD updates to come!

Saturday, May 9, is this year’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, and today (Wednesday, April 22) is the deadline for registering your sale to be on the map. After registration ends at 11 pm tonight, we won’t be able to add any more sales to the map/list (which have just hit 600 sales for the first time in WSCGSD’s history). So if you’re intending to have a sale but haven’t registered yet, please go here now! We’ll announce when the map and sale list are ready, aiming as always for one week before sale day – this year, that means map day is Saturday, May 2. Then get ready to sell (and/or shop) 9 am-3 pm Saturday, May 9! (Some sales start earlier, some end later, some plan extra days – watch for that in their up-to-20-word descriptions as provided during registration.)
Planning a sale on West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day – this year on Saturday, May 9 – but haven’t registered yet to be on the map? Don’t wait – once we close registration at 11 pm tomorrow (Wednesday, April 22) we can’t add sales. Just go here to register! As of moments ago, we’re past 520 sales, with the most-recent creative sale descriptions including “midlife refresh” and “KitchenPalooza,” plus a seller whose entire description is in Dr. Seuss-style verse. Notable items from recent signups include curtains, a pickleball net, camping space heater, raspberry freezer jam, and a 1992 Mustang (yes, most years there are a few people selling cars on WSCGSD). If you’re planning to shop on WSCGSD – a springtime tradition since 2005, coordinated by WSB since 2008 – you can look for the map and sale list announcement here on WSB starting the morning of Saturday, May 2, one week in advance, so there’s time to plan – even if you’re just looking to see whose sale is closest to where you live, so you can walk over and meet a neighbor! Get ready for a day of person-to-person recycling, 9 am-3 pm Saturday, May 9.
Since we opened registration for this year’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day back on April 1, more than 460 sales have been registered! If you’re planning to join them but haven’t signed up yet, just three days remain – our three-week registration period ends at 11 pm Wednesday night, April 22nd. Memorable sale descriptions keep rolling in – one seller admits, saying they’re sellings lots of puzzles because “I’m out of control with my puzzles and I need to pass them on.” Then there’s the sale that’s admittedly to “raise money for college.” Or perhaps you’ll want to check out the sale full of “unrealized art projects.” Or the one with “clothing, shoes, accessories that teens might consider cool.” It’ll all be on the map and in the guide with all the sale listings, including any extras like the dozen or so sales (so far) that plan to start Friday and/or continue Sunday, the day after WSCGSD, which is Saturday, May 9 – just under three weeks away – 9 am to 3 pm. Some sellers are starting early, some staying open late, and you can look for those details as well when we publish the map and list one week in advance of sale day – Saturday, May 2. Sales will be numbered, so that day is also when sellers will find out whether they’re #5, #50, or #500 … so if you are ready to register, please go here!
We’ve passed 400 sales registered for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026, coming up Saturday, May 9, 9 am-3 pm! One of the most-creative descriptions in recent days, out of the up-to-20-words descriptions: “Estate sale meets curated chaos.” From Brace Point to High Point to Pigeon Point to Alki Point, from Highland Park to South Park, from Genesee Hill to Snake Hill, from Sunrise Heights to Arbor Heights, you’ll find sales all over the peninsula. Some shoppers just look for the nearest one and walk over to say hi to neighbors; some make a list of multiple spots to hit; West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day is whatever you make of it. (Some shop for and/or with their furry friend in tow, which is why another seller invites you in their description to “Stop by and bring your dog for a treat!”) Registration remains open until next Wednesday night, April 22, at 11 pm, and then we plunge immediately into making the map and list so they’ll be available on Saturday, May 2, one week before WSCGSD. This is Seattle’s biggest community sale day, founded in 2005, coordinated by WSB since 2008. Ready to register? Got your description ready? Go here!
One week from tonight – at 11 pm Wednesday, April 22 – registration for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026 ends, and our sale map/list work begins. We’re going on 375 sales so far, so this year’s tally will certainly top 400 – how many more depends on the number of would-be sellers waiting till the last minute to decide. Amazing variety of sales again this year as usual, and a long list of interesting items we’ve noted while reviewing and proofreading listings. Among the latest: Alpaca scarves, a drone, a crab pot, a vintage alto saxophone, a handmade iron wine rack, a dory, classic typewriters, an outboard motor … If you have something nobody is likely to find anywhere else, be sure to mention it in your up-to-20-word listing when you register, which you can do right here, right now.
THE BASICS: WSCGSD, founded in 2005 and coordinated by WSB since 2008, is the second Saturday in May – Saturday, May 9, 9 am-3 pm (you’re welcome to start earlier and/or end later, just include that in your listing; if you plan to continue Sunday, mention that too), sales of all sizes, all over West Seattle (and a bit south – we have some in White Center, South Park, and Top Hat too). We’ll make the map and list available online one week in advance (so look here on May 2).
Now more than halfway through registration time for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026 – if you haven’t registered your sale yet, you have nine more days, until late the night of Wednesday, April 22 – then we start making the map and list for the big day, always the second Saturday in May, and this year that’s May 9. Almost 350 sales signed up so far – venues so far include yard sales, patio sales, planting-strip sales, driveway sales, sidewalk sales, courtyard sales, business sales, school sales, block sales, corner sales, church sales, table sales, and of course, garage sales! The types of sales span a wide range too – moving sales, downsizing sales, kid-outgrew-everything sales, kid-going-to-college sales, de-cluttering sales, plant sales, remodeling-leftover sales, memorabilia sales … It’s a day of person-to-person recycling and meeting neighbors … watch for the map and list to be announced here one week before sale day! Need to sign up your sale? Go here (and be equipped with your up-to-20-words description of why yours is a sale not to be missed!).
Four weeks from now – on Saturday, May 9 – we’ll be in the waning official moments of West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026 (though some are staying open later or even continuing their sales the next day). We are also midway through registration, which opened the morning of April 1 and is closing the evening of April 22; we’re almost up to 300 sales now, as usual, all sizes, all around the peninsula (plus some a bit south/southeast of West Seattle, in White Center, Top Hat, and South Park). We’ve been reviewing/proofreading the listings and noting creative descriptions and unusual items – among them, the seller who describes their sale as a “pop-culture fever dream of vintage ephemera and modern kitsch” and the seller who declares theirs to be a “baby blow-out – the good kind!” plus the seller who promises a “modernist aesthetic from an obsessive thrifter.” Besides all the individual sales, we’ll have block sales, multi-family sales, and a few multi-seller sites that have participated in past years too (including Hotwire Coffeehouse and C & P Coffee).
If you’re planning a sale but haven’t signed up yet, the deadline is 11 pm Wednesday, April 22 to do it, but don’t run the risk you’ll procrastinate and forget until it’s too late – get your up-to-20-words listing ready, and go here to register! Whether you’re selling or shopping, watch for the WSCGSD map to be available online – in clickable and printable-list formats – on May 2, which is one week before sale day.
After eight days of registration, more than 250 sales are signed up for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026 – which is exactly one month away. Saturday, May 9, is this year’s date for what we call “person-to-person recycling,” all over the peninsula – from Alki to The Arroyos, Fauntleroy to Highland Park, plus some White Center and South Park sales too. WSCGSD is the second Saturday in May as usual, 9 am-3 pm (you can start earlier and/or end later if you choose to). Along with all the individual residential sales signed up, we have school groups, nonprofit benefits, businesses, block sales, even a P-Patch sale (the return of the Solstice Park P-Patch Plant Sale, one of several plant sales registered so far). We have been reviewing listings and making promotional notes as always; eye-catchers include the “Granola Moms Sale,” “Designer Deals on the Lawn,” a sale with a musubi pop-up, one with arcade games to play while you’re there … and of course, tchotchkes, bric-a-brac, and knickknacks promised by various sales too.
So if you’re planning a sale but haven’t signed up yet, you have until Wednesday, April 22 to do it, so when you’re ready (be sure you have your up-to-20-words listing ready), go here to register! (Also as usual, the WSCGSD map will be available online – in interactive and printable-list formats – one week before sale day.)
We are five days into registration for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2026, the second Saturday in May as always – this year that’s May 9 – and 200 sales of all sizes are already registered!
WSCGSD is one day with many sales of many sizes, all around the peninsula, open at least 9 am-3 pm on sale day (earlier and/or later if sellers choose to). Registration for WSCGSD gets your sale a spot on the map and in the listings guide, which we publish a week before sale day and promote regionally.
We already have sales from Alki to White Center, Fauntleroy to Highland Park, Pigeon Point to South Park; townhouse sales, senior-living-center sales, nonprofit sales, moving sales … another great WSCGSD is definitely shaping up. Registration runs three weeks this year – through April 22 – so if you’re planning a sale, whenever you’re ready with your up-to-20-word sale listing – go here to sign up!
