West Seattle Runner Annual Christmas Light Run, 5 pm: Join us for our Annual West Seattle Runner Christmas Light Run! Put on your holiday gear, lights, strands of light, reflective gear, and headlamp or flashlight. We are hitting the ‘hood in search of the best light displays. This is always a fun get-together, a very easy 2.5 to 3 mile group run. We take it very leisurely. There are always walkers. Bring your dog, your kids, your family, and your friends! We will gather at the shop afterward for cookies and cider, nog, and hot chocolate. Will this be the year that we have carolers in the mix? We hope! Feel free to bring donations for the Food Bank.

LAST DAY FOR ADMIRAL CHURCH WARM CLOTHING DRIVE: One donation site remains popen for this:

The Admiral Church Annual Warm Clothing Drive has a dropoff point in front of the Admiral HUB (at 4320 SW Hill St) for community donations. There is a deep need for warm children’s clothing this year, so if you have neighbors with school age children who have outgrown their winter clothes from last year, encourage them to donate to this great cause. The children’s clothing will be distributed at WIN’s Saturday Feeding Program in White Center to those who need the clothing the most. Adult clothing will be sorted through and divided between the Westside Neighborhood Emergency Shelter and WIN’s Saturday Feeding Program. Larger sizes for both men and women are needed by WIN. Smaller sizes by Westside along with warm coats, hats, and gloves.

WEST SEATTLE BIG BAND @ WS EAGLES: Second chance to see them in less than a week:

WSBB will be the featured Saturday night dance band at the West Seattle Eagles on December 13th. A dinner of Baked Zita will be available for purchase at $15 prior to the show at 5:30 PM. First come, first served. All proceeds of the dinner will go to the Music Boosters at James Madison Middle School. Space is limited. No reservations will be taken for the meal. The evening of music starts at 7:00 PM with 3 sets concluding at 10:00 PM. Music will include some Christmas favorites as well as big band swing and jazz. There is no cover charge for the event, but a tip jar will be available with 100% of the proceeds of the evening going to the Madison instrumental music program. The event entrance is off the alley behind the Eagles Building at 4426 California Ave SW.

WINTER WANDER SCAVENGER HUNT: Alice Kuder is organizing this again and you can register to get going as soon as tonight!

The Winter Wander Scavenger Hunt is a free, 10-day community event designed to bring friends and families together for holiday fun. Wanderers download instructions, a Bingo-style clue sheet, and a map, then scour West Seattle to identify the locations that solve the clues, and upload selfies in front of those locations to qualify for prize drawings. Open to everyone of all ages! Winter Wander starts at 5 PM, Fri., Dec. 5th, and concludes at 7 PM, Sun., Dec. 14th, 2025.
