ROAD WORK ALERT: Northbound Delridge Way traffic north of SW Genesee is temporarily in one of the southbound lanes because of ongoing road work that’s scheduled to wrap up by Monday.

FREE HIKE: Explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt on a guided hike! Meet at 9:30 am at the South Seattle College Arboretum (north end of campus at 6000 16th SW)
DUWAMISH ALIVE! 10 am-2 pm at multiple sites, today’s the fall installment of the twice-yearly mega-work party to take care of the Duwamish River’s watershed. If you haven’t already signed up to volunteer, the Herring’s House site in West Seattle still has volunteer openings. All are welcome, volunteering or not, for the opening ceremony and speeches at həʔapus Village Park and Shoreline Habitat at 10 am (across from the Duwamish Longhouse in the 4700 block of West Marginal Way SW).

White Center Eagles, located at 10452 15th Ave SW, is holding a membership drive on October 13th & 14th. The public is welcome to come find out what the Eagles are all about and all of the charitable work we do in our community. We have been part of White Center since 1946. The membership drive coincides with our annual Oktoberfest event on both Friday & Saturday. Friday features a traditional Jagerschnitzel dinner from 5 to 7 pm with music by the Tim Turner Band from 7 to 11 pm. Saturday we’ll be open at noon for the Huskies game and then join us for the Bierlympic Games from 2 to 5 pm. The Bierlympics include cornhole, beer pong & a stein holding contest. Dinner on Saturday will be brats, sauerkraut & German potato salad from 5 to 7 pm.

This is a little more complicated than items usually posted in the WSB Community Forums‘ Lost and Found (non-pets) section, so we’re publishing it here:
Last week my husband found some cash while out on a walk. He went to the door close to where he found it and asked a woman on the street if it was theirs but wasn’t able to find the owner. I’ve been watching the forums and other (online) groups to see if anyone reported they had lost it, but it has been quiet.
The cash was found near 55th Ave SW and Schmitz Park. If they can identify the general amount (there were bills and coins) and the name of the business on the receipt, we would be happy to find the owner!
If you lost some money – not a huge amount, but enough that somebody would definitely miss it – in that area, email us with the requested info and we’ll forward your note to the finders.
