Tonight’s marquee event – this month’s West Seattle Art Walk! Here’s the list/map:
Artists and venues are spotlighted in this month’s preview – which features food and drink specials as well as art-hosting venues. Highlights include three Art of Music performances – Sarah Brunner at West Seattle Grounds in North Admiral (2141 California SW), Kristen Marlo at John L. Scott Real Estate in The Junction (4445 California SW), and Joshua Dennis at Beveridge Place Pub in Morgan Junction (6413 California SW). VOTE BY TONIGHT! This is Election Day, which means the voting ends and the vote-counting starts. As we’ve been reminding you, there are two ways to return your ballot: King County Elections drop box (West Seattle has three), by 8 pm tonight; USPS mail, ASAP so you can be sure it gets today’s postmarked. Only 42 percent of ballots from West Seattle/South Park had been received by last night. Our previews include an overview of what you’re deciding. First vote-count is due by 8:15 pm and we’ll show the results here.
(ADDED 9:40 AM: We’ve had reports the Junction and High Point ballot boxes needed emptying. KC Elections says their teams are “on the way” if not there already. If you happen onto a drop-box problem, report it ASAP to 206-296-VOTE.)

SOUTH PARK GRAFFITI CLEANUP: They would love to see West Seattle neighbors join in! 1-3 pm, at Duwamish Waterway Park.
The Community Service Officers in collaboration with South Park community organizations are working to build a graffiti abatement program. Our hope is to create more awareness and empower residents and local businesses to reclaim their neighborhood, and have a more immediate, safe, and effective response to remove graffiti tagging around the neighborhood. Our graffiti clean-up kickoff is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2nd, from 1-3 PM. Meeting location will be at the Duwamish Waterway Park, 7900 10th Ave. S. All are welcome to volunteer, paint and mingle with the community.

Fall’s biggest festival is hours away. That tops the first part of our Sunday list – events from the WSB West Seattle Halloween Guide:

WEST SEATTLE JUNCTION HARVEST FESTIVAL: 11 am-5 pm, rain or shine, it’s the return of the full in-person festival including business trick-or-treating – look for merchants with black/orange balloons. The festival is closing streets in addition to the regular Farmers’ Market closure, so California is closed Oregon to Edmunds, and SW Alaska is closed between 42nd and 44th. Key schedule points:
11 am – Costume parade starting at Junction Plaza Park (42nd/Alaska)
11:30 am – Trick-or-treating and free family activities.

Added 11 am: Crews are working at California/Findlay too, painting some of the intersection changes we’ve been reporting on.
