We will be doing some additional vegetation cleanup and landscape work along the sidewalk on East Marginal Way S. to make sure the sidewalk is clear for people walking, biking, and rolling in the area. The work location is between S. Alaska St and S. Hudson St. [map] We anticipate to begin this work as early as 7 am and will conclude by 4 pm. Traffic impacts may include the closure of the northbound lane next to the sidewalk.

TERMINAL 5 UPDATE: The quarterly update on Terminal 5 construction is set for 11 am, when “The Northwest Seaport Alliance Managing Members will receive a quarterly briefing on the Terminal 5 Modernization project. With the north berth operational, construction continues on the south berth in preparation for operations to commence in 2023. TRAFFIC ALERTS: Two for today:
-If you’re going to/from Terminal 102 on the south end of Harbor Island this morning, you’ll be detoured because of the hoisting of the second West Seattle Bridge work platform.
-If you’re heading north on East Marginal, between the 1st Avenue S. Bridge and downtown, city crews will be working on “vegetation overgrowth” all day between Hudson and Alaska, and that might result in northbound curb-lane closures.

COMMUNITY CLEANUP: 10 am, meet at SW Marginal Place and 17th SW to join this adults-only “grittier” cleanup under the West Seattle Bridge and along the bike path, as previewed here.
