TRAFFIC ALERT: As noted here, SDOT “will have signal crews working to replace overhead signs on Chelan Avenue SW (in front of the Chelan Café). The work is anticipated to begin Saturday as soon as 5 am and conclude as soon as 5 pm. Traffic impacts include lane closures below the signs as they work to make updates.”
ALSO FYI: As previewed Friday, the contractor for West Seattle Bridge repairs plans to raise one of the work platforms toward the west end of the main span. SDOT says it will be raised in two parts, the first one as early as 8 am, th second one a few hours later, and that this will not affect traffic.

GOLF COURSE CLOSED: Seattle Parks says the West Seattle Golf Course is closed today, not only to golfing as it has been since the snow started, but also to “snow activities,” since the slushy condition of what’s left is unsafe.
COVID TESTING FOR SPS STUDENTS: As announced last week, two West Seattle sites are offering voluntary testing to all Seattle Public Schools students 1-4 pm today – Denny International Middle School (2601 SW Kenyon)

DELRIDGE GROCERY CO-OP: First owner-member discount day of the new year, 11 am-3 pm: “Everyone who has paid full or partial ownership shares in the Co-op will receive a 10% discount on all in-store purchases (excluding owner share purchase).” The store is open to non-member shoppers too, at regular prices. TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION: Metro is on a regular Saturday schedule … No West Seattle Water Taxi service … Washington State Ferries‘ Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth route is on the Saturday two-boat schedule, and is likely to be extra-busy because the South Vashon route (Tahlequah-Point Defiance) is not operating today … Sound Transit buses and light rail are on varied schedules … No charge for street parking in areas of the city with pay stations … West Seattle-relevant traffic cameras are here; see all cameras citywide via this map.
OTHER NOTES: No USPS mail service (except Priority Mail Express delivery) … Seattle Parks closure info is here … Libraries (city and county) are closed.
